The Academy of Sciences :-)

Only Jim is missing--why???
Back row: Beau, Ashley, Dan, Alfred.
Middle: Elisa, me, Amber.
Front: Brice, Xander, AJ.

On April 17th, the day after buzzing off my hair, the family headed to San Francisco to celebrate Beau's 18th birthday at the Academy of Sciences. It didn't even occur to me to wear a hat. I just went in all my shorn glory :-)

Seriously, I cannot say it enough--I love the no-hair look and feel. Well, until I got a little sunburn, but whatevs.

Eleven of us went off to the Academy. For a few, it was their first time (AJ, Xander, Brice, Elisa, for sure). The boys loved it. Brice cannot wait to go back. I love it, too, and am looking forward to the return and the planetarium opening back up. Here are some pictures of our day. After the Academy, we all split up and did different things until we met up in Santa Rosa for dinner. Ash, Al, Dan and the boys went to lunch. Beau and Elisa went to Japantown. Jim, Amber, Brice and I went to the Sutro Baths and the water organ.

We ended the day at teppanyaki for dinner. I was so glad my energy level held up. It was the first day since chemo that I did not take a nap, although I did sleep on the way home after dinner.

Live sand dollars. They are fuzzy!!

One of many colorful fish.

I love this picture of Brice during our lunch break.

Brice's favorite were the penguins.

At the Sutro Baths.

Brice and Amber at the Sutro Baths. Brice was like a billy goat doing parkour.
