I was told to expect to hair loss sometime around the third infusion treatment. Well....yeah. About that.
You see, not only do I have breast cancer, but I have two different kinds. Mare was right--over-achiever here. And I started losing my hair around day 10, not day 30. What a shock to wake up to a pillow with hair!! And then to shampoo and have it just come out in clumps!
It was a bit depressing to have it just dripping off me. Seriously. I was driving with the windows down and my hair was literally blowing off my head!! Crazy!!
My cousin Madonna zipped me over to her house so we could shave the remainder off. And you know what? I LOVE IT!!!! I was so shocked at myself that I don't even miss my hair one tiny bit! All these years it's been my crowning glory and my bangs have ruled my life (well, a close second after my stomach needing constant intake) since I was 12 years old. You know me--I've tried a couple of times to grow out my bangs to no avail. Bangs are here to stay. Except wait--they are GONE and I LOVE it!!!!!!!
Seriously, shower time and prep time have been GREATLY and HUGELY reduced with no shampooing, conditioning, drying, getting the bangs just right, shaving, plucking eyebrows. All that is done done done and I don't miss it one teensy tinsy bit!!
