A girl and her mother's car

Well, Jim *finally* and at last decided to get a new-to-him car. Which meant decision time--trade in the Chevy Tahoe or hang on to it. I'll be honest--I wanted to hang on for sentimental reasons as the Tahoe belonged to Mom. It's a 2002 and she bought it brand-new in November 2001. She was getting ready to trade it in for a Nissan Z350 when she passed away in 2005. In early 2006, Dad gifted the Tahoe to me and we've been driving it since. It has 274,000 miles and has been needing different work and $$$ in the past five years. I told Jim we had two choices: drive it right into the ground until it dies and then have it hauled off (which will cost us $$ to haul off), or trade it in.

Jim has been keeping an eye out for a car for the past three years or so. He finally spotted the one, but with usual glacial slowness was going to plod along. Nope. I wasn't going to let that happen! I dragged him off for a test drive and that was that. We both enjoyed the 2011 Infiniti EX 35 (with only 64,000 miles!) and did the smart thing: traded the Tahoe for some credit rather than hanging on to it. I thought I might fall apart, but I was surprisingly good with letting it go!

This is the day my hair was literally blowing off my head!!!!
