A girl and her daddy

In the meanwhile, Arnold had called to tell me he would come down for a week to be here during my surgery. Well, after the MRI showed unexpected things, Dr. Jeske postponed the surgery for now and wanted another biopsy or three. When I called dad and left that message, he called back to say they were still going to come down.

I've gotta be honest. There was something so powerful about knowing that my dad was coming down to see me and reassure himself (and me) that all is well. Beau was here when dad got here so there was a very emotional greeting as we haven't seen dad in too long. My very soul just sighed in relief to have him here.

Beau shows Dad his sweet computer set-up.

We arranged to have a family brunch on Sunday morning. Amber and Brice joined us!! We had a lovely bacon//sausage/cheese/egg/tater tot scramble with champagne and fresh fruit. Brice had two helpings and ate about four oranges and most of the raspberries. He loves fruit :-)

two grandsons, and two great-grandsons

Brice, AJ and Xander had a blast and ran around while dad's puppy, Bear, chased all the kids and little Bishe (Ashley's tiny dog). It was wonderful to watch them running around and to swirl in different talk circles and generally catch up.

Sadly, there is just too much going on in the family so Dad cut his trip short. On the way home, they added another fuzzy one to their family: Zoey, a Pomeranian dog. She needed a new home since her person is in the final stages of cancer. Bear and Zoey needed a little adjustment since Bear is a pup and Zoey is much more mature in age.

I doubt that I'll see Dad before I start chemo so he'll have to watch the progress with pictures.
